Scouts,
Remember Sunday, Feb 7 is Scout Sunday at Belair Methodist Church. All scouts should attend the 10:30 service.
Snowtubing sign ups and fee payment is due Monday, Feb 8.
Monday night, Feb 29 is our Court of Honor. Scouts will be recognized for achievements and rank advancements.
Save the date! Feb 27, 2016 Troop 275 will be going snowtubing at Winterplace. Cost is $70 per scout. Medical forms are required. Will be leaving the scout hut on Saturday morning at 11:30 and returning the next day. Sign up and fee is due Monday, Feb 1.
We will be leaving the scout hut at 5:00 on Friday and returning about 11:00 on Sunday.
The weather is predicted to be below freezing overnight with a high chance of rain Friday evening. Please bring rain gear and a blanket to use with your sleeping bag. Extra shoes and socks are recommended to keep your feet clean and dry.
As always, bring your eating utensils, and mess kit with cup.
We are not planning on stopping for dinner on Friday night so please eat before you come or bring a bag dinner with you to eat after camp is setup
2016 Polar Bear Campout is at Camp Conley Clarke (http://www.palmettocouncil.org/camp-conley-clarke/) the weekend of January 15-17, 2016. Please check the weather for the weekend and pack accordingly. Scouts will need to be at the hut ready to leave by 5:00 pm.

Kayaking & Whitewater Merit Badges is being offered by the city of Rock Hill’s A.L.L. Outdoors Program July 21-22, 2015.
Clemson University Merit Badge University is on again for September 26th, 2015. The cost of the event is just $10 a scout, regardless of the badge taken. The cost will include lunch (Pizza, chips, and drink), an event patch, and class materials. Extra patches, fundraiser patches, and adult lunch tickets can also be purchased as well. Scout will be able to sign up for one class for the event.
Currently being offered: American Business MB, Architecture MB, Chemistry MB, Communications MB, Crime Prevention MB with Fingerprinting MB, Dentistry MB, Electronics MB, Engineering MB, First Aid MB, Geology MB, Landscape Architecture MB, Medicine MB, Music MB, Plant Science MB, Search and Rescue MB, and Sustainability MB.
Registration for this event will go quickly. Please let Mr. Joe know which merit badge you are interested in taking.
Four of the Six in this class have earned their Eagle rank. Two more to go!

Scouts and Parents,

Scouts, please be advised–Chris Hennis’s Eagle project has been rescheduled to next Saturday, Jan 31 at 9:00 am due to inclement weather.
We have several scouts interested in attending this years Catawba District Merit Badge College. Sign ups are available on MeritBadge.Info.
If you haven’t registered on this site before, you need to do so on this page or clicking the Register New User button on the paged linked above.
When registering make sure you selected the proper unit.

After that information is filled in, complete the Update User Profile page and you should be able to access the reservation system.
After signing in, return to the event page. At the very bottom of the event page, click the link that says “Sign Up My Unit”.
The next page should be titled Catawba District Merit Badge College – Participant Registration for Troop 275, York, Palmetto.
There are a couple leaders already planning on attending at least the first session and will be available to drive scouts to the event. Plan on leaving the scout hut by 6:00AM.
Troop 275 will make the payment to the council. Please give your payment to Mr. Jamie and let him know it is for this Merit Badge College.
