February 2018 Events

Road Cleanup and Scout Hut work day this Saturday, starting at 9:00 AM. Participation is important as Scouts earn service hours and help maintain our building and equipment.

Scout Sunday – Scout Sunday is February 4, the Troop will be participating in the morning worship service at Belair United Methodist Church. This is a day where we show how appreciation we are for the support this church provides, all Scouts are expected to participate.

Eagle Ceremony – All Scouts are invited to the Eagle Ceremony for Andrew LaFollette , which is Saturday, February 10th starting at 4:00 PM with a reception to follow. The location will be at Living Saviour Lutheran Church, 6817 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the Scout hut. See attached invitation

Snow Tubing – The Troop will be going on our annual snow tubing trip to Winterplace Resort on February 24 – 25. This is a one night trip leaving Saturday late morning and returning late Sunday morning. The cost of the trip is $65 per person, which covers the lift ticket, lodging, lift ticket, Sunday morning breakfast and transportation. Although the trip is a month away we need to commit on headcount this week, so all Scouts and Leaders planning to participate need to be signed up no later than Monday night. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the Scout hut.

Update on Summer Camp at Camp Bob Hardin – June 24 – 30. The cost for camp this year is $300 with a deposit of $100 due Feb 26th and additional payments of $100 due Mar 26th and Apr 30th. Summer camp is a great experience for any Scout, plus it’s the best opportunity for rank advancement and merit badges.
